Yet who do they have? Newsom? Please.

No, I still think they will tap Michelle.

“Here’s the scenario that I think is perhaps the most likely and most dangerous,” Cruz said on his “Verdict with Ted Cruz” podcast. “In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama.”

Cruz explained that by running Michelle Obama as the party’s candidate, the Democrats could “avoid the problems” of having to choose a candidate among political figures like Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Vice President Kamala Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“Barack Obama is already running the Biden administration,” Cruz said. “I think he is already the puppet master, behind this Biden White House, I don’t think Joe Biden is the decision maker. And so, when I see the media turning on Joe Biden right now, I think the odds of Michelle Obama parachuting in in August of 2024 have risen dramatically.”

The senator believes Michelle Obama will unify Democratic Party by positioning her prospective candidacy as “the Obamas saving the day.” He said that other Democrat contenders will be expected to “fight it out next time” when they are all “on the same level.”

Notice the timing? August 2024… The convention. Somebody else floated that idea recently…

Though I don’t think it’s Michelle. I think Mayor Pete will be more likely.

Oh, I seriously doubt that. He was just window dressing to begin with. he had no qualifications to be a cabinet secretary, much less president.

And what qualifications does Michelle have? Beyond that? She’s not likable, and they know that. Obama was “clean and articulate”. Michelle? She’s uppity. Beyond that, why would she and he want to? No, they are living the Martha’s Vineyard dream… I could see them running Hilary again before Michelle.

Pete’s tractable and easily led. He’s got less testosterone than Hilary or Michelle which aids the handlers. And generally, he’s likable.

And so did anyone who had to deal with her, according to the other rumor.

I think it was @Jolly who said that Barak Obama could function as a "shadow" President.

The power is tough to give up. I am sure the money and stress level are much less than when he was President, but anybody who wants to be President has a super high ego, and now that a person is ex-President, it is a bit humiliating. (Humiliating is too strong a word, but I am not sure the correct one.) You go from being able to have someone pick up the phone for you and pretty much guarantee that you will be able to speak to absolutely anyone in the world to being put on hold when you call someone..... Yes, you are important and people still fawn over you, but it is not the same.

@Mik I was thinking more about foreign leaders and officials. It has been 6 years since President Obama was president, and other countries have had a lot of turnover.

President Biden calling a top foreign official at 2 am - yeah, they will be awaken and take the call. President Obama/Bush/Clinton, hmmm, he'll call you back tomorrow .
