The United Auto Workers (UAW) started striking, initially at three factory locations involving some 13,000 workers. The affected sites are: “a GM factory in Wentzville, Missouri, a Ford plant in Wayne, Michigan, near Detroit, and a Jeep plant run by Stellantis [formerly Chrysler] in Toledo, Ohio.”
