I'm all for it. I take my kids into McDonalds once in a while - and it's pretty much the only time the kids get soda. I'd prefer them to just pour it and I never get refills.

We went to a nice restaurant last weekend and i ordered a coke. I got a small glass, half filled with ice, which I assume cost $5 or so. I asked for another after finishing it, and the waiter was kind enough to inform me that the coke is sold by the bottle, so there would be a charge for each. I refrained from mentioning that the glass couldn't have held a bottle's worth of coke. I just politely declined the second helping, grateful that he warned me of the extra charge.

@Horace "I'd like a bottle of coke, and a glass of ice on the side, please."

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Which is worse, the $5 Coke or the $30 to check a bag 1-way?

Off topic, but I think that they should have no charge for checked bags and charge for carry on. That would definitely speed up boarding and off-boarding of people and may help with the time to turn around the planes.
