    https://www.deseret.com/2023/9/13/23870924/sen-mitt-romney-announces-he-wont-run-for-second-term

Romney announced that he will not seek a second term in the Senate.

Part of me wonder if Romney looked at Feinstein and McConnell and told himself, "nope, that ain't gonna be me."

Or is it because Pierre may have been defeated in his primary? Lawd, that would be embarrassing...

Good for him. He's 76 years old - too old, IMO.

          Also in his own opinion.

              https://news.yahoo.com/mitch-mcconnell-told-mitt-romney-201056522.html

Upcoming biography book on Sen. ROmmney

              QUOTE
Shortly before President Donald Trump's first impeachment trial, Sen. Mitt Romney remembers then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell telling him Trump was an "idiot" who "doesn't think when he says things."

              QUOTE
McConnell told Romney he was "lucky" because he could publicly "say the things that we all think."

"You're in a position to say things about him that we all agree with but can't say," Romney remembered McConnell telling him.

Dear Leader is getting a bit old for all this influence. Presumably the favored successor will be his charming offspring, Jnr.

Maybe he can ditch Airforce One and build an armored train. It would help rejuvenate the steel industry.

                  I was only joking
