Bloomberg: How Biden and Congress Should Fix the Immigration Crisis
-
How about they pressure the current administration to actually enforce the current law? Just a thought…
-
Bloomberg's solution seems to boil down to two things:
- Adjudicate immigration cases faster.
- Permit those who have been let in work sooner.
Basically don't leave people in legal limbo where they have to wait without being permitted to work; let them work to (1) help pay for their own living expenses and (2) help with the local economy.
May not be a complete solution, but partial solution at least.

Easy. Enforce existing law. Do not practice catch and release. Illegal immigrants will be housed in guarded barracks until adjudicated. ICE will be given enough resources to accomplish their mission, funded by a 1% cut (that should do it, if not, more) on other Federal agencies.
Want to get more radical? In addition...Shut down the FISA court. Transfer all judges, staff and LE connected with the court to El Paso, Santa Fe, Phoenix, Miami and San Diego. Have them buttress the immigration judges, taking the harder cases and appeals.
If Congress wishes to institute a guest worker program or reform current immigration law, a little push from the Executive would be nice. The Dem plan of importing illegals for a perpetual power base has soured, with the current situation in sanctuary cities. I think that side of the aisle may now listen to reason.
If not, quit sending buses from Texas and Florida, and start contracting for trains.

That’s not the crisis. That addresses 1-2 minor concerns caused by the crisis. That’s snaking the drain while a firehouse is blasting water into the bathtub… Turn off the firehouse, then fix the drain…

The Biden administration is already using aircraft. Just use more of them.

Understood.
120 getting off of a plane may not have the same visual or actual impact as 1000 flooding a train station...

A 10-car train, all coach would be about 750 people.
