That seems like a great unanswered question of our culture wars. How do the constantly outraged people survive their day to day dealings with other people, such as professional colleagues, when they don't have the weight of the entire culture to support their tantrums? The personality type which makes one a good progressive mouthpiece doesn't seem like it's compatible with a stable life or livelihood.

        Education is extremely important.

5 years from now, when you go to the dictionary and look up "Internet Attention Whore," there will be a link to this story.

I'm having a hard time deciding which aspect of this story is curling my lip more: This crazy benighted woman howling about the awfulness or that somebody saw fit to elaborately recount it in something called The Blaze, like it was an actual news source.

You know, you've got to feel a little sorry for these kids. Where were their parents? How did this young woman reach her years unarmed with the knowledge that life can suck, and sometimes it will suck against you? They're like baby turtles on their backs, these kids. No defense at all.

You know, if you'd get over your predjudice, news does appear in other places than WaPo. In fact, concerning political news, those other sources may not be any more biased or agenda driven than WaPo or the NYT. At the very least, they don't claim to be impartial, as do The Grey Lady and The Paper of Record.

When did I say I'm prejudiced toward WaPo?

In any case, this Blaze thing can't qualify as news. Unless you think this story qualifies as news. It's not news. It's at best op-ed.

This woman's postings went viral all over the net. It's news.

We're talking at cross purposes. There's news news, and there's over-the-back-fence news. Going viral doesn't itself qualify a communication as news.
