I think that the population decline of college age student has the much greater impact.
I also think that the author overestimates that children of Christian religious parents will go to a Christian college.
Not always, but it is not unusual for that age group to try and be different from their parents. If the parents say up, the kids may say down. Not because the parents are wrong, but because the kids have to try and set their own path.
Anyway, I think that many many US colleges (religious and non religious) will be in trouble over the next 25-50 years.
