Are there any good night sky watching apps out there that will send you notifications about meteor showers and such? Last night Finley and I just missed out on an awesome bolide meteor last night and it occurred to me that there are likely some apps that will alert you of particularly heavy meteor activity as well as even help you map stars and constellations…
Any suggestions?

Stellarium is really nice even the free version has no ads and is accurate, etc. The full version is a little pricey for an app at $19.99 one time free or they also have a subscription option. I haven't found anything that can predict a single large meteor, just the normal, predictable meteor showers, which in all my years, have been nothing but disappointing.
