Google's Chromebooks as Electronic Waste

Google Chromebooks are very popular in K-12 public school systems. Now with more experience, the schools are saying the Chromebooks don't last, some become unusable in two years because some components just cannot receive required security updates anymore.

More on Google's "electronic waste," this time about the Pixel watch.
The main points seem to be:
- Google has no "repair program" for its Pixel watches
- Google does not supply parts for its Pixel watches
- So if anything breaks, Google's only response is to tell you to buy a new one
Of course, having read that article, I had to check whether other "smart watch" vendors have "repair programs" or provide parts. A quick search appears to confirm that Apple and Samsung have "repair programs" and provide parts for their smart watches. Not sure about FitBit. :man-shrugging:
