RIP Jimmy Buffett

Maybe ya gotta live closer to the area...I have a couple of Jimmy's CD's. Never made it to one of his shows.
They seem to love him around here. He seemed to play at Gillette quite a lot. I'd literally never heard of him until I moved here.
Somebody said he was the world's only workaholic beach bum.

Something interesting I've considered:
Lots of poor musicians stay poor and are listened to by other poor people.
Plenty others start off poor, then make it rich and are listened to by either rich or poor people.
Jimmy Buffet is true dyed-in-the-wool Yacht Rock. Didn't grow up poor, doesn't use poor motifs, is only listened to by people who are at least middle class. I can't think of too many who are like that.
He seemed pretty darn alright to me, even though the music wasn't my thing. RIP, man.

Hilarious. Always liked that Margaritaville tune. Pretty much summed up chill’n out in the summer or a holiday beach and bar somewhere tropical.
Can’t say I knew any other tune of his although I’m sure he had many others. Smart guy. Always struck me as a Jerry Jeff Walker light dude.

Lymphoma.

@Nanna said in RIP Jimmy Buffett:
The cause of death has been given as Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a type of Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the skin.
Then TMZ was wrong. Their article said he started off with skin cancer and later had lymphoma.

Media often get a diagnosis of Neuroendocrine Cancer wrong. For example, Steve Jobs and Aretha Franklin died from Neuroendocrine Cancer of the Pancreas, not Pancreatic Cancer. Very different! I have Neuroendocrine Cancer of the Small Bowel. Those of us with it are trying hard to raise awareness.
