I wanna see the toxicology report.

he could have lost control....hit some object. when you are on a road bike with those thin tires, u can screw up royally. although why anyone would ride on an interstate is beyond me. the little road biking ive done, ive been terrified to even have a semi trailer drive by me, enough so that i quit altogether road biking, something i did for about a year, a ways back, at the behest of a friend (who was actually my piano teacher for a while) . simply not for me, the danger is not worth it to me.

Why the heck was he on a freeway anyways?
Pretty sure it is illegal to be there.

That was my question. It was at about 9 PM.
"Hey, it's dark out! Let's ride the interstate."
Pretty sure it is illegal to be there.

The short answer is that the majority of states in America still prohibits cyclists from riding on interstates and highways unless there is specific signage allowing bikes on them. And where it is legal, cyclists may be directed to take the first off-ramp marked with signs for bikes to use.
Here are the states where it is legal to ride on the interstate:
- Alaska
- Arizona
- Idaho
- Montana
- Nevada
- New Mexico
- Oregon
- Texas
- Utah
- Washington
- Wyoming
These states allow for some interstate use by cyclists, as long as that interstate is designated for bikes:
- California
- Colorado
- Florida
- North Carolina
- Oklahoma

I don't even like driving a car on the Dan Ryan. And it's even worse on the south side where it's combined with I90. Wall to wall semis.
