A lot of them actually end up getting free room and board for life, if they happen to make a wrong split second decision, in an altercation with an oppressed person. I think that retirement plan needs to be factored into their total compensation.

I don't know if these numbers are right (too lazy to check on a Sunday night), but I wouldn't be surprised if they were/
I was bored, so I did look it up. 555 Appears that they make quite a bit more.
For example, police officer with 4.5 years of service makes USD$98K/year before benefits and overtime.

I've been in my job 20 years, and I can't afford a 1 million dollar house either.
Maybe somebody on Twitter can write about this scandal.

A couple of years ago, a candidate for mayor in our town who is sympathetic to the Defund idea came to our door. I wasn't sympathetic to her so she noted that a new officer in our town made $80k which she noted was good pay for someone without a lot of special skills. I can't imagine the hell of that job. $80k seems light considering what they put up with.

A mayoral candidate going door to door ginning up resentment against cops. Wow. I bet her resentment messaging depends on the skin color of the person who opens the door.
