One can both sides are equalize, if one's definition of equal, is that both sides contain some amount of a thing. But for those inclined towards nuance and scale, one would be hard pressed to find a single-issue existential threat platform like the Democrat platform of 2022.
And why not? Any sufferer of TDS is right there with that platform. Catastrophizing the Republican party is what TDS sufferers do. It's a testament to their irrationality that some part of their brain recognizes that that sky is falling attitude makes them a potential laughing stock, so when pressed, they'll deny the allegation that that's how they see politics.

Curtis Yarvin has thought his way to the conclusion that democracies are doomed to this sort of failure. He's not much of a good interviewee, but his conclusions are interesting. Too bad his prescription is for an unattainable utopia of a benevolent monarchy.

I recommended him to you years ago but cautioned you that he’s too verbose and you’d likely lose interest before developing an appreciation of his ideas.

Yes I remember. He's on the spectrum and has difficulty focusing on a point.

Democrats have become the party that protects democracy by locking up their opponents. Trending hashtag movements like #MeToo and Black Lives Matter have come and gone while the only consistent movement to endure has been the rise of a political police state.
