It could be reasonably argued that on a moral scale, the judge’s behavior is beneath that of the defendant’s.

On a practical note it makes no difference. He’s already serving a 3.5 year concurrent sentence for violating Floyd’s rights. Since it’s concurrent it won’t add a day on to his time, but it sure sounds big in the news

Consider what the judge has at stake personally as well. That’s where it pays for one’s own personal principles to coincidentally coincide with the mob’s. Lots of that going around. It’s almost like humans are naturally wired for it.
