There is something heartwarming and uplifting about the concept of everybody dropping what they are doing to answer a call for help, like the Beacons of Minas Tirith being lit and Rohan answering Gondor’s cry for aid, the great lengths sailors will go to for a rescue gives hope that humanity will figure things out when the excrement hits the fan.
