      The way our government is set up, pretty much lends itself to a two party system. Third parties have never been very successful.

        Look at the disagreements between Jefferson and Adams, and you can see the roots of the 2-party system.

            No more so than the parliamentary system. I was going to offer the election of Trudeau as evidence of how badly such a system can get screwed up, but then I thought of the tottering old thief we have in the Whitehouse...

                Nothing the matter with the parliamentary system, just the Trudeau Liberal Party’s inability to govern as a serious government. The lack of seriousness in Ottawa will change in very short order.

                The institution of parliamentary governance remains strong as ever regardless of the amateurs we repeatedly elect to office.
