Is that what that miserable excuse for a tie knot is? Ugh. I see it all over the place these days and I hate it. Half-Windsor FTW. Symmetrical and neat. I was always very particular about how my tie looked, and generally wore Talbot ties and the like.

Ppfffttt … if you want symmetry, full Windsor FTW.
My full Windsor knotted Walmart tie is the gold standard.

If I want to go fancier or just need to fix the tie in place, I add a Donald J. Trump branded gold plated tie clip accentuated with three small diamond studs from Macy’s.

I use a 1.46 windsor. Have no truck with those who go less than 1.24 windsor.

      Education is extremely important.

I agree that other than the tie, he's impeccably done.

Also agree that nothing looks worse than too tight clothing, on anyone. And this trend toward high-water pants I just do not understand.

I actually missed wearing suits and ties to work. It was much easier to get dressed in the morning, although my dry cleaning bill was higher. Now people look like they're going on a picnic or out to work in the yard.

I’m not a fan of the spread collar.

Sometimes I do feel nostalgic about the old days of wearing suits to work. That time coincided with a period of my life when I was younger and everything just felt more hopeful with endless possibilities back then.

It was much easier to get dressed in the morning, …

Now it’s even easier because I either stay in my pajamas or pick one from my dozen or so Columbia “fishing” shirts.

The modern 2-sizes-too-small look in men's suits is ridiculous.

The king looks good in that picture

Here with the wife, she has a little of the Jackie O look in this picture, is that on purpose?

Someone, please ask Mr. Trump to button that jacket for the pictures.

And a couple buttons to hold that collar down wouldn't hurt.

If you full Windsored a Walmart tie the knot would be the size of a softball and about 6 inches left below.

                Yes.

Have to admit that Biden (when not on the beach, of course) always looks well-dressed at official events.

As for the Twitter thread, it’s easy to make tall, slim men look good. I would like to see all the author’s “principles for good tailoring” stress tested on the likes of Peter Dinklage and Kevin James before calling them good.

The jacket appears appropriate. Four-in-hand knot. Lapels right width and the sleeves and jacket are not too small or short

                    .image.jpeg

Trousers too long, but the jacket seems OK.

Same here. Although the collar "pointing" to the lapel notch is a nice touch, I prefer the longer down-pointing collar, or, like @Mik , a button-down.

For a practical dress shirt I prefer button-down, but for a more formal dress shirt I prefer no buttons… I saw a dress shirt requiring cuff links, but with a button down collar. Stupid.
