He bounced from hospital to hospital, every one not able to get him off the benzos. Long discussion of the side effects of withdrawal. Still has symptoms related to withdrawal (weakness, etc), writing book that's going well.
He chastises himself, a psychologist, for not seeing the problem.

It's a bit hard to summarize.
One take-away is "JBP (and family) slowly recovering after going through hell for a year".
But you really have to listen to the whole thing. It's very hard to compress into a few sentences. Rather emotional, too.

Sorry, jon. My pursuit of what is meaningful does not steer me toward taking your posts seriously.

You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price. You get to choose which poison you're going to take. That's it.

It was Piaget who taught us that intelligence is what we use when we don't know what to do. I take it you consider yourself pretty intelligent, there, my guy?

And it was Nietzsche who taught us that a man's worth is determined by how much truth he could tolerate. How do you think you're measuring up?

When asked whether or not you were in need of an ass-whipping, Carl Jung famously said that "often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain."
