Saw a story that Russia is preparing to mobilize another 500,000 troops.
Of course, "mobilized" ≠ "trained and combat-ready."

Maybe they're going to start training fat people, too. They're probably running out of criminal alcoholics at this point.

500,000 is still a lot of cannon fodder.

Don’t know what to make of that.
A few of days back there was a rumour, albeit unsubstantiated, that mutinous Wagner mercenaries were going to bomb the Kerch bridge. I suspect it was just that - a rumour being circulated in a couple of dubious Fleet Street tabloids.

I’d look askance at that rumor, but maybe we can’t entirely count out the actions of disaffected troops, be they Wagner or Russian army.

My thinking as well. This war is truly a meat grinder for both sides.

Problem is, Russia has more meat.

Russia also has a populace weary of war and an army that doesn't believe in the mission nor want to fight. Ukraine has a population fighting for their families.

If this is now a war of attrition, one side will eventually break the other. If Russia wishes to continue to commit blood and treasure, they have the resources to defeat Ukraine.
Maybe the Russian people finally get enough of it and they change their government by some mechanism. So far, though, they haven't.
