Now she can be as miserable as the rest of us and complain just as loud!

Thanks all. She’s ambivalent about it, but she will love the passport. And maybe someday we will bring her parents here to live with us. That’s only possible if she’s a citizen.

      Education is extremely important.

Congratulations Horace. When I got Canadian citizenship I was surprised by how emotional I got. And apart from anything else it takes away any uncertainty in future if the political landscape shifts

        I was only joking

              Congratulations Horace and the Mrs.!
It would be interesting to hear her thoughts on what it all means, but IT'S NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS RAINMAN!
My parents thought it was a big deal as I recall, but they always considered themselves Estos first, the old country became exaggerated in how wonderful it was in comparison.

It's purely transactional to her, no emotion, but for some regret at giving up her Chinese citizenship. She's not a huge fan of America. It's just where she has to be, in order to spend her life with the world's greatest husband.

                Education is extremely important.

Do you know this guy? Perhaps he can join us at TNCR?

                    Congratulations!
My observation has been that legal permanent residence and citizenship applications through marriage do get processed much quicker than other application categories, months rather than years.

Congrats to Mrs. H. It's interesting that there aren't that many countries that don't allow dual citizenship.

Passport renewal is the first time you'd have to actively lie about not being citizen of another country. I guess you could still lie, but I wouldn't mess with China personally.

As I understand it, there are a lot of folks of Chinese origin. Mom and dad might feel right at home.
