In their barracks. Nothing would precipitate a mass revolt faster than Putin calling on the Chechens to kill ethnic Russians to save his sorry ass. You have no idea how Chechens are hated throughout Russia.

He knows very well that some day they will come for him anyway. He is a dead man either way.
