I just had shot number two yesterday afternoon, and I'm beginning to wonder whether RFK Jnr. might have a point.

Ugh.

Still, better than shingles.

I got my first Shingrix shot about 2 years ago.

Though the injection was no biggie, my arm was sore, REALLY sore, for several days afterward. It's the first time I had a reaction to a vaccine.

And yeah, it's much better than shingles.

Presumably Shingrix and other vaccines for shingles are available to just about everyone, including, say, Sen. Diane Feinstein. How effective is it? Why did Feinstein still had to be hospitalized for shingles?

97% effective for people in their 50's, a little less for old codgers. It lasts about 7 years, apparently.

According to a statement, Feinstein had previously been vaccinated, but they didn't say when.
