Looks about right, and yes the social contagion of TDS can be assumed to afflict that demographic most strongly.

The fact that he's such a misogynist probably didn't help much either.
Yeah, yeah, I know, he loves women. Except those who are less than a 9.

Helps that today's young woman is batshit crazy. Or, at least 75% of them.
I was watching a discussion recently with some young men and young women. One attractive young lady was bemoaning the fact that she was 30, had no firm marriage possibilities and couldn't understand why. I thought the guys discussing this with her were pretty spot on:
- She's put career first. She had a college degree, a Master's degreee and a mountain of student loan debt,
- She'd had a good time, complete with multiple sexual partners, from hook-ups to a couple of "serious" relationships. In guy terms, she'd been "run through".
- In terms of stability and financial wealth, the man she'd most likely want to have as a husband, was now in that 40-ish range. The cream of that crop were probably either players or guys coming off of a bad divorce, neither of which wanted anything more than casual sex.
- All the guys said, wives are found. Guys really start looking hard at about that 25 year-old mark...Looking for gals their age or a couple of years younger. If you're the party chick, the Saturday night quick roll-in-the-hay, the raging feminist warrior or any of the things guys aren't looking for, you won't be a found wife. The ideal young wife will be mentally stable, socially stable, not a wild party animal and ready to settle down, raise a family and try to achieve some common life goals with her husband.

Probably has less to do with Carter and more with the end of the main cause of the radicalization to begin with - the Vietnam war and the draft.

The herd has a strong attraction.
And I think gender matters in this regard.

The science is in about that, and it has been in for a very long time.

In a reasonable world, these trends, which figure to be generational or even indefinite, might give TDS sufferers who happen to have an appreciation for conservative ideology, some pause about their enthusiastic hatred of Trump and "Trumpism" these past many years. All that hateful messaging, when filtered down to the young and impressionable masses, never differentiated between Trump and conservatism, nor between Trump and the people who voted for him.

Much like many charts concerning US electoral projections would have you believe that there are only two parties.

Sex and parties were both supposed to be fun. What happened?

They're still fun. Trust me, I'm single.
