That's great. One of my favorite NYC memories was going to Phoebe's, a Bengals bar in the Bowery, for a game. Surreal and great fun to see all that orange and black in Manhattan, and to hear all the chants.

LSU's #1 pitcher is so good, the announcers at last night's game said you could have flown him from Omaha to Boston, and he could have pitched in the Yankees-Red Sox game. Every time he got two strikes on a batter last night, the crowd got to their feet and screamed "L-S-U!"
It was like a home game in The Box.
LSU beat Tennessee, 6-3. If the wind had been blowing and the park was the size of most college ball parks, it might have been more. Dugas hit a 412-foot shot that was caught at the fence. Jobert did have a good night, hitting a double, a triple and a dinger.

He's probably going #1 overall...Which probably means the Pirates.

Which dovetails into another thread...
Baseball needs to lose their exalted anti-trust status and join the rest of the sporting world, where somebody other than the major markets can be competitive.

Or at least impose a salary cap and revenue sharing like the NFL, which has become pretty adept at parity.

Don’t worry, they’ll trade him for a AA team.

Problem with that is the player’s union. It’s too strong and run by the 5% of players making 7 figures. The only way to bust that is to take the 20% making $50K a year and offer them $100K to $200K per year to play for a competitive league.
I think it stands a far better chance than the XFL-USFL.
