There has been a lot of talk this week about the Middle School Students and their horrible anti-Pride demonstration. The principal railed about the homophobia that is rampaging through students home and how ashamed he was to have this happen in his school…
Turns out there is a little more to the story… Maybe not the “lede” but certainly an important beat…
Perchase said she received some feedback that the counter message was in response to the school not recognizing the observance of Memorial Day.
Perchase said the lack of recognition for Memorial Day was “an oversight” and said school officials apologized to students on Monday.

In Oklahoma, workers were told restrictions on decorating were out of a concern for safety after recent attacks at Target
stores, the union said. In late May, Target
pulled some of its Pride merchandise, citing threats against its employees. Some of the retailer’s locations in the South also moved Pride collections to less visible areas on the floor. The Washington Post reported Target stores in at least five states were evacuated this weekend after bomb threats.The clear implication being that those right-wing nut jobs might threaten Starbucks the way they threatened Target. That’s how disinformation works…

A college called Evergreen, way back pre-covid, had what was effectively a Shame Day, where white professors and students were asked to stay home, and leave the campus for the minority students and faculty. A professor there named Bret Weinstein, a white Jewish lifetime lefty, took issue with that, wrote a letter to the campus about his issues with that, and proceeded to come into work that day. He was confronted with emboldened mobs of young black activists, refused to back down, and eventually got fired.
