If you deconstruct it, the celebration is of the ability to annoy social conservatives, without social conservatives being able to fight back.
Obviously, celebrating the sort of sexual activity that one enjoys, is not a generalizable or reasonable thing to celebrate. There must be something else they are celebrating. They are, in fact, celebrating the defeat of their political enemies. That's why the more in-your-face it is, the better.
