That's exactly what's happening in Cincinnati. Even the venerable Carew Tower is being converted to residential. I remember my dad's office there when I was a kid, looking down on the Central Trust tower.
The Carew is the tall Art Deco building, the Central Trust the pyramid top.
The Carew houses the former Netherlands Plaza hotel, which is about the finest Art Deco interior I've ever seen. Pictures really don't do it justice.
