    My son, 14 in a couple of weeks, is REALLY into planes. Especially warplanes. What would be a good model airplane type or brand for him to try? He’s never been particularly artistic or dexterous so take that into account.

      Since he is a beginner, I would suggest any 1:72 scale WWII plane by Airfix or Tamiya. Not a lot of pieces overall especially small pieces, instructions are clear and everything fits together fairly well. The nice part about 1:72 scale is that the kits are less expensive and there is a greater selection. As well, all the aircraft including the four engine bombers are a manageable size.
