"Dune"

Probably one of my favorite Sci-Fi books. The scope, breadth, world-building are unmatched in anything I've done. I've read it three times, now. I think the first time was in 1979 or so.
I'm thinking of doing it again, with the intent of getting into the prequels and sequels. That said, I vaguely remember the sequels and thinking, "meh."
Trying to do the same with the "Foundation" world has left me unimpressed.
Should I dive in?
Hmmm.....

I only read the first one. Loved it. Thought about going into all the sequels, but felt like a steep climb and I got busy at work.

I've read the sequels.
It's like trying to add to GWTW.

That’s an idea. Maybe I’ll go for a reread at some point. The first time I read it I was just about hitting puberty and fell madly in love with Chani.

I loved Dune. The sequels became progressively more and more ridiculous. I gave up at the point where (spoiler alert) the immortal worm-emperor turned into a load of sandtrout.
