Just to put my Ax hat on: LOL
"The rankings look at “the share of citizens in each state holding college degrees, as well as college graduation rates, the cost of in-state tuition and fees, and the burden of debt that college graduates carry,” according to the publication."
They should probably look at where the citizens came from.
Also, graduation rate DOES NOT EQUAL
- quality of education
- type of job after graduation
- % that actually does find a job
- GPA
- etc.

Ok, give me a broad statistic that will.

There isn't one. That is why I think college rankings are kind of useless.
BUT, if I were going to do it, I would have the following
- graduation rate
- % employed (or in grad school) within 6 month of graduation in an area that relates to their major
- % that graduate within 4 (or maybe 5 years)
- average starting salary??? (not sure about that)
- total cost per year
- % of total cost that the school helps meet
- probably others, but there is a lot that is hard to put a number on. Why is Harvard better than Florida University? Maybe it isn't but probably most rankings put Harvard higher up than Florida.

I think that's a pretty decent set of indicators. Whether Ax stays down in the weeds or is just smoking weed, machts nix.

How do you expect to collect the data?

"Florida ranked #1 for higher education"
Yeap, that's why DeSantis has to mess with it.

You want him to make it like the hellhole you live in?

According to the Vox article, DeSantis wants to ...
- Ban transgendered athletes from competing in sports outside of their natural gender.
- Get rid of math textbooks containing woke ideology.
- Ban sexual talk and gender ideology in grades K-3.
- Allow designated trained teachers to carry firearms.
- Wants to do away with AP African American studies courses in high schools. African American studies is the study of Black resistance to structural racism.
- Rolling back DEI initiatives in state funded universities.
- Promoting more parental involvement in public schools.
Well, hot damn and hallelujah! Sounds like a winning education platform to me.

Good question. I would say that some could be collected from career center at the college (feedback from companies that we hired X people from your college for example), and some would have to be self reported I guess.
Not perfect system, and that is why I think college rankings are not perfect. I think that most people would agree that certain colleges are better than other, but I would put it into very wide categories - maybe by 25% increments rather than 1, 2, 3, etc.
