    There's a local animal shelter that was registered for a grant from a bank in the Midwest. Whoever got the most votes in support of this charity would win a grant. I don't know how much money was to be granted, but...

    Anyhow, you could vote once a day.

    Once a day FOR EACH EMAIL.

    Well, I have about a dozen emails, so...

    Guess who got about a dozen emails a day in support of this animal shelter over about three weeks?

    I just saw, on FB, that they won a grant.

    Did I cheat? Perhaps.

    But it was a damn good cause, and I'm pleased.

      Did the rules SAY you could not use several emails?

      Aaah, never mind. Winning is good.

        @Mik said in I cheated for a good cause:

        Did the rules SAY you could not use several emails?

        Not explicitly, but they suggested one vote "per IP address."

        Aaah, never mind. Winning is good.

        Yeah, what is best in life.

        These kitties are going to be loved, fed, and sheltered for a good while thanks to the grant.

          Had you told me I would have voted multiples. I have half a dozen emails.

            I don't know if that's cheating or just working the system.

              That’s cool. Glad for the shelter and their charges.

              Multiple emails is how I read Ax’s links here. The NYT, WaPo, and The Atlantic will never stop me from getting only three free articles.

              Just kidding, I never read Ax’s links.

              Also I never read anything.

                @Horace LOL Horace.

                (the website address that I "own" allows me to have 150 email address. I will have to keep this trick in mind if needed)

                      Mine didn’t, though I could have done that with a VPN.

                        @George-K

                        www.tigertech.com. It was recommended by @Axtremus and has worked out well. I wanted an address that I "owned" rather than just "used" from another company. It is USD$10/month. Is it worth it? 🤷

                        I wanted jennfier@xxx.com rather than jennifer@gmail.com for example.

                        I can also set up a web page but have not as of yet. LOL

                        (I just looked. I have the basic plan and it is up to 100 email addresses. The next level is 150 addresses)

                          @taiwan_girl thank you! I'll make a note of it.

                          I was with GoDaddy for the longest time, and then, they started raising their prices and I was unable to understand what added value I got.

                          I'm currently at bluehost.com, and, although I kept my domain at GoDaddy, all of my email is at bluehost.

                          If tigertech provides and all-in-one solution (my own domain as well as unlimited email storage) I might make the switch when my contract expires in about 8 months.

                          Thank you again, I'll make a note of it.

                            It doesn't seem so. (But I am not sure I am reading it correctly). I think it is 20 GB for the basic plan. I save most of my emails that I need on my computer, so I don't think that it effects me.
