Oh, I think Tucker will do quite well.

    POTUS, maybe?

He could be Trump's second-term Monica Lewinsky!

After all, he's probably had worse things in his mouth.

This is the Tucker Carlson thread. If you want to talk about things that "News" hosts have had in their mouths, please take your comment to the thread where it belongs.

    The Don Lemon thread.

    Thank you.

I have never seen his show, and I am sure that things will come out in the future as to why he was fired/quit.

But, it is not uncommon for celebrities to think that they have more power than they truly do.

Yes, he was quite popular, etc. But wasn't the guy he replaced the equivalent? Now, where is he?

My prediction is that Mr. Tucker will start a podcast, it will be minority popular and make him good amount of money, but he won't be talked about very much.

Meanwhile Fox News will find someone to take his place, etc.

Whenever someone tries to tell me that they are (or someone) is irreplaceable, I laugh and point them to the President of the US. The most powerful person in the world, and the job opens up every four years.

Remember when Glenn Beck was a big thing on Fox?

Maybe Tucker can join forces with him. I'm sure he's still broadcasting.

Beck owns the The Blaze. O'Reilly does podcasts, Youtube and Newsmax. Meghan Kelley does podcasts. Bongino owns a piece of Rumble.

There's enough talent on both sides of the political aisle to put together something interesting. What, I don't know.

An enhancement of an existing entity like Newsmax? Multiple videos for a platform like Rumble? A podcast channel for streaming and satellite radio?

The "Independent" claims Carlson was blindsided.

“Blindsided” Tucker Carlson was in the midst of negotiating a new contract with Fox News when he received a call from CEO Suzanne Scott on Monday morning telling him he had been fired from the right-wing network, according to a report.

Fox News announced that it had “parted ways” with its biggest star on Monday, days after settling a $787m defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems over lies about the 2020 presidential election.

Insiders told Vanity Fair that Carlson was caught off guard by the news and had recently been negotiating his contract renewal through 2029.

The order for his firing is believed to have come directly from Rupert Murdoch.

On Monday night, his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” show was instantly replaced with “Fox News Tonight” hosted by Brian Kilmeade, who brushed over Carlson’s sudden departure.

“As you probably have heard, Fox News and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” he said.

“I wish Tucker the best. I’m great friends with Tucker and always will be. But right now, it’s time for ‘Fox News Tonight,’ so let’s get started.”

Carlson leaves behind a legacy of bringing far-right ideas and racism to mainstream audiences.

Before I take anything the "Independent" says seriously, I'll see what they say about racism at CNN and what they say about conspiracy theories at (left-wing) MSNBC.

It's refreshing to see Americans resorting to British media sources to find out about what's going on in their own country. Obviously, I've been doing it for years!

According to all reports, Tucker was blindsided. He was working with his producers, putting together that evening's show. He was told he was fired 10 minutes before FOX announced it publicly. Most are saying the decision came directly from the Old Man.

It's going to be interesting. FOX Nation is struggling, but Tucker was their main draw. I think you can fold the tent on that one and throw it on the trash pile with CNN's effort. Bill O'Reilly at his zenith pulled about 4M viewers. Tucker is #1, but he pulls about 3M. OTOH, cable news numbers are down overall.

I've already mentioned NewsMax, but if CNN is really serious about getting back to the middle, they ought to pull a Brink's truck up to Tucker's house. I'd offer him two things...1) the 8P slot on CNN for the Tucker Carlson Show and a return of a show like Firing Line, that Tucker would host.

That would be great. Rather than having a pair of idiots shouting at each other, or worse, amplifying each other, a real discussion.
