Abstract. This pilot study compared mothers of boys with gender identity disorder (GID) with mothers of
normal boys to determine whether differences in psychopathology and child-rearing attitudes and practices could
be identified. Results of the Diagnostic Interview for Borderlines and the Beck Depression Inventory revealed that
mothers of boys with GID had more symptoms of depression and more often met the criteria for Borderline
Personality Disorder than the controls. Fifty-three percent of the mothers of boys with GID compared with only
6% of controls met the diagnosis for Borderline Personality Disorder on the Diagnostic Interview for Borderlines
or had symptoms of depression on the Beck Depression Inventory. Results of the Summers and Walsh Symbiosis
Scale suggested that mothers of probands had child-rearing attitudes and practices that encouraged symbiosis and
discouraged the development of autonomy. J. Am. Acad. Child Adolesc. Psychiatry, 1991, 30, 2:310-315. Key
Words: gender identity disorder, maternal psychopathology, Beck Depression Inventory, Diagnostic Interview for
Borderlines, symbiosis, autonomy, child-rearing practices.Yeah that checks out.

In the words of one of my best friend's son...70% of the available women are on psyche drugs of some kind, and the other 30% ought to be.
We have done a marvelous job of raising a generation or two of women that have some weird ideas...

I don’t find it surprising but at the same time it’s hard to compare cohorts from 32 years ago to those of today. There was no social contagion then.

There's always some kind of social silliness, just sometimes it's worse than others.
What we do have today, is a ten-foot wide pipeline of information and people who probably know less immutable Truths than at most times in history. So they grab onto whatever plank floats by in the torrent, hoping they've found enlightenment, when all they've found is just another piece of wood.

A psychologist named Jonathan Haidt, who is far to the left of Jordan Peterson, but still heterodox, has been studying this through his career. His career has coincidentally overlapped with the advent of the internet and social media.
Women's mental health is more adversely affected by social media than men's mental health. The feminization of the institutions we're watching, is a feminization of females who've been raised on social media. These are not your parents' females.

I wonder if the female susceptibility to social media is related to the fact that they are the ones who need to be pursued, while men need to pursue and necessarily need acclimation to rejection. In a social media world, we have women who can no longer sit back and wait to be pursued.
