So, Suckerberg can suck it!

Sick of being "harvested." It reminds me of that TV movie, "V," from back in the day. (Ronnie England, Faye Dunaway, et al). Tired of algorithm bingo, where AI decides what content to feed me. It all began to get too Orwellian, and I'm tired. FB now, is not what it was even 5-10 years ago. I probably won't deactivate my account. (for now) But I'm fed up.
Besides, all the perfect people were really screwing with my last vestiges of fraying and theadbare patience, so I had them exterminated.
So! Hello again, all you dain-bramages!!

Glad to see you here again, @Frank_W, welcome back!
I rarely use Facebook and I am not a fan of Zuckerberg. (I just don’t have any feeling for Zuckerberg one way or another.) But I recognize that some sort of algorithm is needed for the website to decide what to show you. The rate of information feeding into FB is immense, no way all that information can fit on one screen. So some manner of selecting what to show you on your screen is absolutely necessary, and that’s “algorithm.”
Same problem with Twitter. In the earlier days, Twitter just show you everything posted by the people/accounts you chose to “follow.” Then after Twitter grew beyond certain size, Twitter had to be more selective with what to forward or show to you, hence “algorithm” also became necessary for Twitter.
