Super Mario Bros. (2023 movie)

Since there was another Super Mario Bros. film released in 1993, this is not going to make it into the "Original Movies" thread.
Go see it in 3D while you still can.

The 3D is really well done. Not in a "in your face" sort of way though. The film maker does not appear to try to wow with 3D effects. The 3D is just so natural that before long you enjoy the 3D without being consciously aware of it being 3D.

Really exceptional renderings of Princess Peach’s facial expressions -- that defiant determination in her eyes beat just about any animated facial expressions I have seen to date (heck, it beats even many facial expressions by human actors). There is no lag of off the wall stuff in the Super Mario world, but this is a production that wins with subtleties.

It's a fun family movie in its own right. Pretty well done as an animated feature film. A rather enjoyable 90 minutes of laughter and entertainment. No preaching of any controversial social message or agenda.

Pays good homage to the games. The music, the mushrooms, the obstacle course with Donkey Kong, the cart race on rainbow, etc. should appeal to existing fans of Mario Bros. But still enjoyable for those not already familiar with the franchise.
As far as animated feature films that have been developed from children's video/computer games go, this is the best one yet.
