        Actually, pigs are starting to get fatter. Overly lean hogs don't have as much taste.

            Although pigs were never really thought of as fat so much as gluttonous.

            Only non-witches get due process.

              Pigs were thought of as fat. If you look back 100 years or so, you'll notice hogs with a much higher percentage of body fat. That's because they were bred that way. Hog fat gets rendered into lard...Folks didn't have Crisco back in the 19th century. Or you might use lard to make soap, although it doesn't do as well as beef tallow.

              The leaner breeds came about because of public demand and marketing.

                Same with beef. I'd kill for some nice crispy rim fat on a steak. I remember that with great fondness.
