Flying to San Diego with the boy this morning.
Set my alarm for 5, car service comes at 6 for an 8:30 flight.
When I wake up I see a text from Delta sent at 1:30AM apologizing that my flight was canceled, and “there were no good rebooking options over the next 48 hours”.
I got online, found an option from United leaving from Newark tonight at 7pm. Ok, I get in at 11pm instead of noon, but it could have been far worse.
And get this - the flights are a little cheaper than the Delta flight I booked a month ago….
Another downside is you don’t get TSA PreCheck if you book day of… So we’ll go through the main security line with the great unwashed.
Still, not in too bad of shape considering

So I call Delta, since the default is an eCredit, but I want a refund.
"Current hold time, 1 hour 24 minutes"

"Current hold time, 1 hour 24 minutes"They don't have a "Let us call you back when you're next in line" option?

Saw on the news last night the FAA is asking the airlines to reduce flights by 10% this summer due to a shortage of ATCs.
Swell.

I guess letting them work from home is not an option?
