In what other culture do we celebrate the perp as much as the victims?

It was horridly, tragically wrong to do what she did, but that doesn't mean she deserves to go unmourned.

Trans or not, she was a human being and had her own torment.

Don't know that I'd call it celebrating.

I'll probably be misredd on this, but screw it.

I see your point, Cats, but her perceived victimhood, even should one allow that it is real, is orders of magnitude less than the people whose lives she randomly and pointlessly took.

She does not deserve to be mourned in anything like the same way, nor counted as another victim. That's just insane. She chose her path. They didn't.

There is absolutely no question that her perceived victimhood is orders of magnitude less than her victims.

I don't know what "mourned in the same way" means.

And something, some influence or set of factors contributed to creating the self that drove her to that hallway. I think it's reasonable to feel sorrow for that as well. In that sense, she was a victim, if of a different stripe.

I'm not even thinking of the hordes in the article. Yeah, that's a bit much.

In a sane society, she would not be mourned. Her name would never appear in any type of public media. The autopsy would be performed, the cremation would take place and her ashes would be scattered.

I don't want a grave where any activist can mourn or an urn of ashes to be paraded down a public street.

In a sane society, we would admit that transgenderism is a mental disease and treat it as such. We wouldn't celebrate it, we wouldn't promote it and we damn sure wouldn't let the groomers work their magic within our public school system.

We now have a generation of young people who don't know who they are...That's not too uncommon, as most young people have to find their way in life and settle into adulthood. What is unique about this generation is that they don't know what they are.

It would be well within the abilities of an average human, even if there is a feeling that you're the wrong gender, to live a normal, well-adjusted, self-mutilation-free life. The self-mutilators are not set apart by their gender dysphoria, as much as they're set apart by their inability to deal with it and move on. If you're compelled to self-mutilate because of your beliefs that don't align with reality, then it's fair to say you're mentally ill.

Some law institute in UCLA: "Over 1.6 million adults (ages 18 and older) and youth (ages 13 to 17) identify as transgender in the United States, or 0.6% of those ages 13 and older."

Yep that's a received mind worm that makes it more difficult to be happy and well adjusted, after you first begin wondering whether you might have gender dysphoria.

Just another leftist mind worm that ends up inflicting a lifetime of stress, for no benefit. It joins the ranks of the race narrative mind worm, which is a permanent tax on the peace of mind of American blacks.

That's actually the thing. It's not about the small fraction who actually have gender dysphoria. It's that gender dysphoria is now treated as a virtue.

Identifying as transgender is a child's ticket to a massive outpouring of support, protection, advocacy and social credibility. All you gotta do is get mutilated and screw your body up with hormones.

Anybody who thinks this issue is getting blown out of proportion has clearly not stepped inside a school in the past decade.

I wonder how many Blacks you score on the oppression scale by being trans? I think the score is actually greater than 1. Maybe for the first time, there is a new oppression king. I don't expect that to last. Gay is like .2, female is like .1, latino is .3, black is 1.0, trans is currently 1.3?

                                  Education is extremely important.

                                    Sounds about right.

Don't forget the groups who score zero.

Yeah. I think there's an important distinction between groups who score negative, zero, and positive. Anybody who scores positive, gets to be in the club. (This matters in DEI events at work, which matter to HR, which informs hiring and promoting policies, and therefore it matters in your career.)

White males score negative, I would say asians males score zero, and everybody else has a positive score.

                                      Education is extremely important.

We now have a generation of young people who don't know who they are...That's not too uncommon, as most young people have to find their way in life and settle into adulthood. What is unique about this generation is that they don't know what they are.

Some law institute in UCLA: "Over 1.6 million adults (ages 18 and older) and youth (ages 13 to 17) identify as transgender in the United States, or 0.6% of those ages 13 and older."

                                        Hardly "a generation".

If you spend your whole life in an internet forum for weirdos, the percentage of weirdos is 100%.
