Had baptism service. Water was a mite cold in the watering trough.

Did you get baptized? I didn't think that Baptists, like, re-upped?

      Please love yourself.

Not me, lad. I was baptised by a Free Methodist minister in 1975. In a borrow (bar) pit. One time does it.

The young lady being baptised tonight, squeeled when she stepped in the water. Loudly. A galvanized metal watering trough water can be a mite cold.

          I'd imagine it would be!

Speaking of non sequiturs: my uncle's a monsignor. Back when he was a priest and I was just a kid, he asked me and my two cousins to help with Communion. We walked up the aisle toward the altar, and maybe it was the baptismal area that tripped him up? I don't remember but anyway, my cousin dropped what he was holding. (I think it was the holy water.)

I don't know if anyone else heard it, but I was close by, so I heard him whisper through bared teeth, "G**D**** it." 😄

I wonder if he remembers this.

(He ended up going into the military, went overseas, came home safely.)

          Please love yourself.

            Good story!

BTW, I redd this post too fast at first, and what I at first thought I redd was "he asked me and my two cousins to help with Communism".
