If the gates are down, don't go around

In my neck of the woods...
Link to videoEastbound freight stopped just west of the crossing, causing the gates to be down, and stay down. It's in the middle track of a three-track right-of-way.
Woman decides she's tired of waiting, and goes around the gates. She can't see the eastbound Metra commuter train on the southernmost track.
She walked away, and that's a miracle. Had she been half a second faster, she would have been hit broadside with fatal results.

How stupid! I saw a video (maybe @George-K posted) a long time ago about the same situation, but it was a walker who went around the gates. And unfortunately, he was killed.

Gates Down: Don't Go Round.
About 6 months ago, in my neighborhood, someone was killed by the westbound California Zephyr. Apparently, he was trespassing on the right-of-way, wearing headphones/earbuds, and didn't hear the train coming up behind him.
