    I’m pretty sure that I was on TOCR arguing about whether we should be in Iraq.

    @jon-nyc was there, and @Jolly , and @Mik , and @George-K , and @Copper , and…

    I’m pretty sure we were all there…

      I hadn’t gotten there yet. I found the place just a couple months before he closed it.

        I was on the piano forum. Didn't spend much time in the CR then as I was on the hunt for a grand.

              I was in the process of emigrating to the US from Canada. When the war started, I have to admit I started wondering whether it my best ever idea.

              I was only joking

                To be honest I don’t recall much other than I wasn’t surprised it had started given all the media build up the preceding months.

                I have better recollection of the start of the First Gulf War. Was at my desk at work when our Trade Show Director came to my door and said that there were reports of air raid sirens and explosions in Baghdad. Was towards the end of the work day.

                  I'm really surprised Iraq hasn't surfaced in Russian criticism of the US regarding Ukraine.

                      I was in Dadeland Mall in Miami, browsing in a Sharper Image store with a friend/coworker, and a woman walked in with a handheld radio next to her ear and said "we're at war". It was early evening for me.

                        I remember having discussions with my students about "sovereignty".
                        That topic is still pretty actual...

                        BTW: is this subscribing to PW a kind of who-was-first-contest? 🤷

                          Yes, there is a great deal of prestige at stake.
