I get these "physician surveys" every now and then. This one was primarily concerned with ethics. Among the questions was this:

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Well, they get into those stirrups voluntarily, so I’d say yes.

Actually, this was a survey of cardiologists.

I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere.

Well then, they’re already heartbroken, so still a yes.

            6 months seems a little long…

How long have they been dead?

If it’s cardiologists, I think the likelihood of blossoming romance is pretty slim. Ever seen a cardio waiting room?

What struck me is the rather arbitrary "It's OK" timeframe.

What makes it not OK at less than 6 months? What's different in two years?

The comedy potential here is being wasted. Get busy.

How? It's not a funny situation at all. Emotional complications, ethical quandaries, basing an entire relationship on false pretenses... no good can come of it.

You date a patient, you're fucked.

Guy I went to medical school with not only dated a patient, he had a baby with her...while he was married to someone else.

He's an OB, by the way....
