No. We agree from time to time. In this case he's right, as am I. The reaction to this provocative event was entirely predictable. They need to get a spine if they really think it is important, and I think it is.

Furthermore, it's easy enough to make noise, get some publicity, then retreat and hide behind claims of threatened violence. One can reasonably suspect that that is the organizer's game plan all along. Actually going through with the reading would dispel that suspicion.

Having an event? Sure. Take the kids out of it. You can’t have a kids book event without children, and exposing them to the mob that day would be unconscionable when the whole point is meant to be about protecting kids.
