Tom Brady to unretire again - back to the Pats

I'd be surprised if Brady goes along with that, for various reasons.
I’ve got no doubt in my mind that he retires as a Patriot. He is extremely close to Robert Kraft, even forgoing part of trading camp to attend his wedding.
Any and all problems with Belichick were and are blown out of proportion to drive clicks. It was a simple case where you had an aging QB that while still performing at a high level, was on the decline while consuming a significant amount of money. At some point you did need to move on, and from a strict football perspective, it was better for the Patriots to move on before the QB fell off the cliff performance wise rather than after. The Patriots also had a few drafts not work out quite as well as they had hoped, and the cupboard was bare. They weren’t ready to compete with or without Brady and maintaining Brady’s salary would postpone the reload of talent that was necessary. Instead of 2 years of mediocrity, it would have been 5. From Brady’s perspective he was able to shift to a team that was loaded and just needed an above average QB. He was that, and it worked…

I guess it's been well over 23 years since I stopped watching or even caring about "mainstream" professional sports.
I have never watched a game when this Tom Brady character was playing. I don't even know what he looks like. lol

I beat you. I stopped caring in 1984 with the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl.

That makes two of us.

Well, yeah, since it would be vacuous bullshit.

Happens ALL the time with HOF and Ring of Honor players.
Antonio Brown asked for a one day contract to retire as a Steeler. Pittsburgh said “Uhm, thanks, but no….”

Interestingly, the Steelers have never done that. Even Franco Harris retired as a Seahawk…

It would still be bullshit. They weren't on the team in any legitimate sense.
It’s more for the teams and their individual fanbases.

Well, to be fair, your team hasn’t had a great track record with your retirees, Boomer and Collinsworth…
