I haven’t look at the actual bill, but to the extent that recent administrations and Congresses have tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) for dubious reasons, I think it would be a good idea to tighten the rules for when and under what circumstance the SPR can be tapped. How the rules should be tightened is up for debate.

Whether that is high enough a priority to be the second bill passed by the House this Congress, that is also up for debate.

Idiots. They just don’t want it used before an election when the other party is in power.

Biden’s use of it was easily the most legitimate since gulf war 2.

      You were warned.

Meanwhile their cult leader wanted to sell it during prosperity just because he prefers debt financing to having tangible assets and thought the US should be run like his on-again, off-again bankrupt businesses.

        You were warned.

A solution in search of a problem. I don’t necessarily agree with you on the most recent use being wise, but putting more restrictions on use is foolish.

            I don't mind some restrictions.

It's one of those things that when you need it, you're really going to need it.

I agree. I dont think that it is as "strategic" as people think it is.
