Slide fails
-
There was a playground built on 2 levels on a hill where I grew up (Mon Valley)… The two levels were connected by a 60 foot concrete staircase built to traverse the 50° incline. Eventually, some idiot built a 60’ 50° concrete slab and laid polished sheet metal from the top to the bottom. Of course, there was no sheet metal long enough, so they had to use multiple sheets with only a 1/32” gap between the sheets… There was no sides, and if you fell off you were rolling through brambles to the bottom of the slope (after a few feet of sliding on the exposed concrete for a few feet). Oh, and the slope was Westward facing, getting full exposure to the sun.
The thing lasted 5 years before they finally ripped it out from too many injuries…
