My annual visit to the dermatologist was today

I had a nice slice of my left cheek removed for biopsy. They cauterized it to stop the bleeding.

What an interesting smell. I could see the smoke coming up and the smell reminded me of some kind of BBQ. I hadn't had this before.

And this time I'll get the Red-Light torture, apparently that is stronger than the Blue-Light torture. I have had the Blue-Light torture a couple times. I have also had various cancer killing cremes, MOHS and just plain carving.

Dermatologists have a pretty good bag of tricks.

      They do.

Must be a bit disconcerting when you are the BBQ! Hope all goes well.

It is no big deal, really minor stuff, it was numb.

I didn't know she would cauterize it, I wasn't expecting the smoke and smell. It was mildly interesting. I'm sure GK has smelled it a million times.

          About 700 times...

          ...a year.

Yeah, it's a pretty unique smell, as @bachophile can attest. Somehow, it never smelled like something I was cooking.

@Copper I know this has been difficult for you, but I believe in your strength and ability to recover. I believe you'll come out of this stronger.

Burning flesh and burning hair have a very recognizable smell.

I’m getting the red-light treatment very soon.

                Had MOHS in November.

I get stuff taken off and biopsied pretty much every 6 month visit.

The anti rejection drug Cellcept increases the odds of skin cancer by 6000%. And as a former sun worshiper I was getting skin cancers removed in my 30s, well before my transplant.

                Only non-witches get due process.

Yes, we all have to do our bit to keep this a cancer-free forum.

Now that I have had a chance to think about it, GK is right. If I took my old Florsheim Imperial wingtips with the leather sole and put them on the grill, that might be something like the smell.
