Can someone help me find my shocked face?

Who will be the first to build a battery factory in the country?

On the other hand, what else do they have to purchase in order to build said batteries?

Cobalt, phosphorus, manganese, graphite and a few other things.

And what if countries also decide not to sell those things to Zimbabwe? Zimbabwe will be SOL.

What's going to happen here is other countries will develop their own resources and their lithium will not be worth nearly so much. We have lithium, but it's apparrently a nasty process.

Apparently, Zimbabwe is not a big whoop in the lithium world.

They say they can supply 20% of the world's needs.

What they didn't say, was that they don't mind tearing the country up to mine it...

Battery technology is evolving as fast as any other technology.

Would not surprise me if in a few years, better batteries are being made without lithium.

I rather suspect we've got quite a way to go before we exhaust the possibilities. The Lithium Ion battery was only prototyped in 1985.
