AI will make it so people don't need any abilities, other than social skills, in any job anyway. If anybody wants a useful and honest degree for life skills, they should get their PhD in Schmoozing and Ingratiating Oneself to Others. If nobody around you is accomplishing or producing anything, you won't feel bad about not accomplishing or producing anything yourself, and you can find fulfillment in whatever social climbing you can manage, through the non-accomplishing and non-producing masses you work with.

Making enough money to live simply and comfortably and then retiring asap is absolutely a smart person thing to do. But finding fulfilling work is probably a better option.
