Back in June, a wealthy Texan gave the New York City police 20 purebred Tennessee walking horses, the fanciest mounts they ever had, on the condition that his identity be kept secret.

The police stayed mum. But persistent Texas newspaper reporters stayed on the case and yesterday, when Ann McDaniel of The Dallas Times Herald approached H. Ross Perot, a Dallas millionaire with a long‐time love of Tennessee walking horses, he said, in effect, “You got me. ”

Would certainly love to have another Ross Perot around.
Maybe we do in some respects, but I can't name anyone current that would fit in Perot's shoes, so to speak.
